Title IX – New Federal Regulations (85 Fed. Reg. 30026) updates beginning August 14, 2020

Our District and the Title IX Coordinator are aware of and acknowledge the new Title IX regulations released on May 6, 2020 and effective as of August 14, 2020.  Our Title IX team received training on these new regulations on July 29, 2020.   Additional training was provided for Investigators on July 28 & 30, 2021, and for Decision-Makers on July 29 & August 2, 2021.  Training was provided for Investigators on July 26 & 28, 2022, and for Decision-Makers on July 27 & 29, 2022. Our District training sessions were conducted by The Professional Law Corporation of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo (AALRR) and the materials can be seen by clicking below:

The district designates the individual(s) identified below as the employee(s) responsible for coordinating the district's efforts to comply with applicable state and federal civil rights laws, including:

  • Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972,
  • Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973,
  • Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act,
  • The Age Discrimination Act of 1975.

These individuals are also tasked with addressing inquiries regarding the district's nondiscrimination policies. They will serve as the compliance officer(s) specified in AR 1312.3 - Uniform Complaint Procedures, responsible for handling complaints alleging unlawful discrimination against students. This includes discriminatory harassment, intimidation, or bullying based on a student's actual or perceived:

  • Race
  • Color
  • Ancestry
  • Nationality
  • National origin
  • Immigration status
  • Ethnic group identification
  • Ethnicity
  • Age
  • Religion
  • Marital status
  • Pregnancy
  • Parental, marital, and family status
  • Physical or mental disability
  • Sex
  • Sexual orientation
  • Gender
  • Gender identity
  • Gender expression
  • Genetic information
  • Any other legally protected status
  • Association with a person or group with one or more of these actual or perceived characteristics

Who is the Title IX Coordinator?
